The FAN3223-25 series of dual 4-A gate drivers provides high peak current pulses with short switching intervals for driving N-channel enhancement mode MOSFETs in low-side switching applications. The driver offers TTL or CMOS input thresholds. Internal circuitry holds the output low until the supply voltage is within operating range, providing undervoltage lockout. In addition, these drivers feature matched internal propagation delays between the A and B channels, making them suitable for applications requiring tightly clocked dual gate drivers, such as synchronous rectifiers. This also enables the parallel connection of the two drivers, effectively doubling the current capability driving a single MOSFET. The FAN322X driver integrates the MillerDrive structure for the final output stage. This bipolar-MOSFET combination provides high current during the Miller plateau phase of MOSFET turn-on/turn-off to minimize switching losses while providing rail-to-rail voltage swing and reverse current capability. The FAN3223 provides two inverting drivers and the FAN3224 provides two non-inverting drivers. Each device has dual independent enable pins that default to an on state if left unconnected. In the FAN3225, each channel has two inputs of opposite polarity and can be configured as non-inverting or inverting with selectable enable using the second input. If one or both inputs are left unconnected, internal resistors bias the inputs so that the output pulls low to keep the power MOSFETs off. The FAN3224TUM1X-F085 and FAN3224TM1X-F085 feature SO8 encapsulation with exposed pad for improved thermal dissipation for fast switching applications such as EV/HEV on-board chargers.
